Rutabagas and also known as Swedes, Yellow Turnips, and other names have been around for centuries and have lots of health benefits, and they grow every where. Being part of the turnip family rutabagas are very hearty and will withstand even cold climates and contain lots of vitamins, minerals, and even prevent cancer. Rutabagas go all the way back to the Middle Ages in Europe, and then made their way to the New World. Rutabagas need to take on a bigger spotlight in the veggie world because they are nutrient packed healing veggies that will do the body good.
Taste – Rutabagas have a taste that is similar to a cross between turnips and cabbage which is nutty and sweet. And they make great mashed rutabagas which is very creamy and really tasty and they can be added to mashed potatoes and mashed carrots too.
