“Coffee Leaf Tea contains more healing compounds than coffee & green tea.”
History – Way back in the 1800’s research in Britain and France found that coffee leaves were amazingly healthy, but Coffee Leaf Tea never took off, people were hooked on coffee and tea.
In Ethiopia people will walk miles just to collect a few coffee leaves for tea… because they know these leaves are very healthy. Some people believed that Coffee Leaf Tea helps with hunger, fatigue, and clears the mind for better concentrate.
Not Enough Press – Green Tea has been give lots of press time as the great antioxidant… but in reality Coffee Leaf Tea is even better.
Taste – Coffee Leaf Tea is earthy tasting and smooth, tastes like any green plant, not bitter like some coffees and teas. And Coffee Leaf Tea could be added to juice, regular tea, or coffee, and just about anything else because it really doesn’t have much flavor.
Lots of Antioxidants – Coffee Leaf Tea contains more antioxidants in the forms of phenolic compounds, mangiferin, and hydroxycinnamic acid than any kind of coffee and tea… thus helping to prevent cardiovascular disease, strokes, and cancer.
Mangiferin – Coffee Leaves contains mangiferin which is also found in mangos and this compound helps with diabetes, protects the brain from degradation, and lowers cholesterol. Arabica coffee leaves contain the most mangiferin… and arabica coffee is the most popular coffee in the world.
Lower in Caffeine – Coffee Leaf Tea is lower in caffeine than coffee or tea… thus having the benefits of antioxidants without the jitters.
Anti-Inflammatory – Coffee Leaf Tea is a powerful anti-inflammatory because it contains some of the same compounds found in mangos that help with inflammation. Making it great for arthritis, joint pain, redness, swelling, and pain in general.
Lowers Cholesterol – Studies show that Coffee Leaf Tea lowers bad cholesterol or LDL cholesterol and triglycerides… and increases good cholesterol or HDL cholesterol.
Diabetes – Studies with rats showed that rats given Coffee Leaf Tea compounds significantly lowered their fasting glucose levels… thus making it great for diabetics. Researchers believe that “mangiferin” is compound that lowers glucose.
Recipe – In Ethiopia they make Coffee Leaf Tea by grinding up coffee leaves and brewing the tea in boiling water for 10 minutes. Then adding milk and cardamom for a very refreshing beverage. Also Coffee Leaf Tea can be made by taking 3 whole coffee leaves and brewing them in 2 cups of hot water for 10 minutes… tastes similar to green tea.
Finding – Google “Buy Coffee Leaves” and lots of places to order coffee leaf tea will come up. The first company to market coffee leaves was “Wise Monkey Tea Company” and they are spreading the news about the health benefits of coffee leaves to over 16 countries now.
Growing – If you live in the tropics such as Asia, Africa, Central America, India, South America, the Caribbean, and other places where they grow coffee then coffee leaves will be readily available. But coffee plants will grow in green houses, and as potted plants in your house. Coffee plants grow slowly so have patience.
Experiment – It might be possible to dry coffee leaves, grind them, and then roast them and have a whole different tasting experience… give it a try, you never know.
