Amalgam Fillings – Remove amalgam dental fillings, these fillings are full of mercury and other heavy metals that slowly get into the body. Removing amalgams stops mercury leaching…and mercury is a deadly poison.
Mercury causes our immune system to always be on the edge… plus it can interfere with probiotic growth in our colon thus preventing good immune function.
Perhaps you get sick often, it could be your amalgam fillings… talk to a progressive dentist about removing your amalgam fillings safely. In lots of countries in the world amalgam fillings have been outlawed.
Not Enough Fiber – Fiber is very important for a healthy immune system. Eating whole fruits, whole veggies, and some whole grains… creates fiber that produces a good environment for probiotic bacteria to grow. Fiber promotes peristalsis of the gut thus preventing constipation.
The daily recommended fiber intake is 25 grams, and most people fall way short of that amount. Processed food contains very little fiber and thus prevents us from meeting our 25 gram goal. Eating a whole foods/plant based diet provides lots of fiber.
Inulin – Eat inulin rich foods… inulin is food for probiotic bacteria. Inulin allows the growth and proliferation of good bacteria in your colon… thus boosting our immune system.
Not all foods have large amounts of inulin. Here are foods that are full of inulin, try eating some of these everyday… or at least weekly. Chicory is full of inulin, add chicory to your coffee in the morning, artichokes also contain large amounts of inulin and fiber.
Green onions, leeks, garlic, red beets, asparagus, legumes, jerusalem artichokes, jicama, and bananas also contain lots of inulin. Grains also have some inulin but much less than what you find in fruits and veggies.
Also the herbs dandelion root and elecampane root contain inulin.
Taking inulin capsules is not a good idea because too much inulin can lead to bloating, cramps, and pain. It’s best to eat whole foods and have a natural intake of inulin.
Oligosaccharides – Foods that contain inulin also contain oligosaccharides which are a carbs that are not used by the body… but are broken down in the colon by good bacteria so they can thrive.
Resistant Starch – Resistant starch are starches that do not break down in the gut and create a great environment for growing probiotic bacteria. There are four types of resistant starch and they are all important. They come from different types of plants – Here are a list of some fruits, veggies, and other foods that contain resistant starch.
Green bananas have a large amount of resistant starch and cooked green bananas are great for building your probiotic immunity.

Also eating green bananas raw or eating less ripe bananas (choosing a banana that’s slightly green to eat is good for you)… and raw potatoes (You can buy raw potato starch) raw potatoes contain resistant starch (A tablespoon of raw potato starch contains about 8 grams of resistant starch) and very little usable carbs. Also cooked brown rice which has been cooled, and cooked potatoes which are cooled… also contains some resistant starch.
Plus cooked beans, raw seeds like cashews, and cooked grains promote the growth of probiotics. Also some raw grains such as oats contains resistant starch.
Resistant Starch is Very Important – When we eat resistant starch it’s broken down into butyrate a short chain fatty acid which feeds the lining of our colon. It also reduces inflammation of the colon and thus also helps to prevent colon cancer.
Butyrate helps to prevent Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, diarrhea, and constipation.
Some feel that most of the food we at only feeds 10% to 12% of the cells in our body. But the breakdown of resistant starch and fiber in our gut via probiotics feeds 88% of our cells. We need these healthy fibers and starches to be healthy and have vital energy.
Plus resistant starch lowers blood glucose levels and creates insulin receptivity… thus helping to prevent diabetes.
Resistant starch also helps with weight loss.
It Takes Time – If you start eating a resistant starch diet, start out slow and build your way up. It takes 2 or 3 months to create all those great short chain fatty acids that create a powerful immune system and vitality.
Remover Sucrose (Sugar) – Sugar promotes the growth of bad bacteria in our gut. Sucrose and other forms of refined sugar are like pouring gasoline on a fire, it burns out of control. And because of that good bacteria that need fiber do not thrive and bad bacteria that thrive on these simple sugars take over and go out of control. This plays havoc with our immune system… and thus we get sick all the time and have no energy and vitality.
Remove Corn Sweeteners – Corn Sweeteners cause the overgrowth of bad bacteria in the gut… and also fermentation causing the over production of methane gas which stops peristalsis of the intestines… thus we have constipation or it can also lead to diarrhea.
Our bodies were not meant to handle large amounts of corn sweeteners… it’s best to avoid them all together.
Plus corn sweeteners cause rapid weight gain resulting in obesity.
Probiotics – Taking probiotic bacteria in capsules is great, but we must have the right food for these great bacteria, and the right environment for them to grow.
Also when we take probiotic bacteria by mouth… 90% of the bacteria are killed by our stomach acids. Thus it’s very important to take lots of probiotic over a long period of time.
Animal Protein – At the Gerson Clinics (Named after Dr. Max Gerson who was very famous for curing lots of incurable diseases)… they recommend not eating any kind of animal protein. They say our GI tract is not made to handle animal protein, and animal protein ferments in our GI tract… and eventually causes problems with our immune system.
The Bottom Line – The final result is that we need to eat right. Eating organic whole foods/plant based diet devoid of all processed food and animal protein will boost our immune system. Also it will give us more energy and vitality and make us feel great.
