“Hooked on Coffee— Replace that Second Cup with a Piece of Fruit”
Lots of people are hooked on coffee and all that caffeine can create anxiety and stress. Try replacing that second cup of coffee with a piece of organic fruit and enhance your health.
In this day and age, everyone has enough anxiety and stress without adding a little more with lots of coffee. And coffee has to be detoxed by our liver and that puts a stress on our liver over the long run. But having a nice slice of papaya, pineapple, apple, or having an orange or any other fruit uplifts a person and gives us energy so we can keep going all day long. And it’s not artificial energy like we get from caffeine. With caffeine, we think we have more energy but it’s really just the caffeine that we are feeling. It’s not true vitality and energy like what we get from fruit with good energy and nutrients.
Right now coffee shops are jam packed because everyone needs their shot of coffee first thing in the morning and to keep going around 3PM… no wonder we are hooked on caffeine, and we wonder why we have a lack of energy in general. But with a Whole Foods Plant Based Diet we have lots of energy because we have the building blocks of natural energy on hand all the time.
Having a cup of coffee with sugar gives us mainly two things—caffeine high and sugar high. Both of which do harm and the sugar causes an imbalance in our probiotic bacteria by providing harmful nutrient that bad bacteria need to grow and flourish. This is not to say that having one cup of coffee in the morning is bad, it’s the person who has coffee all day long who has stress. Or the person who substitutes meals with coffee, or the person who’s really addicted to coffee and needs that hit of coffee just to stay conscious.
Coffee does contain some antioxidants but not nearly as much as what we find in fruit. And in coffee does not contain any live enzymes and live enzymes found in fruit are vitally important for healing. And there are lots of great vitamins and minerals in fruit and not much in coffee. And we have lots of great fiber in fruit for boosting up the growth of probiotic bacteria— and no fiber at all in coffee.
Like I said, have your cup of coffee in the morning and then switch to fruit for the rest of the day. It’s much healthier and over the long run less stressful, and right now everyone needs to de-stress as much as possible.
